I have the inspire 3, and I didn’t go to the gym today, do any cardio, literally just stayed at home all day. I did clean the entire house and my room, as well as wash my car, and was on my feet all day, but it says I walked 6,000 steps today and 2.49 miles??!! There is no way that is accurate. Anyone else come across these issues

Hi there, @naimh. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm sorry to hear that your Inspire 3 is tracking too many steps. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!
As a first approach, please keep in mind the algorithm is designed to look for intensity and motion patterns that are most indicative of people walking and running. When working at a desk, cooking, or performing other activities with arm movements, a device on your wrist may add some steps. When you’re doing activities that involve arm movement, such as working or cooking, you often walk a few steps in-between stationary periods as well, so the device tries to give you credit for those steps. For most customers, the number of extra steps added by arm-based movement isn’t significant when compared to your overall stats. For more information, see How accurate are Fitbit devices?
To make sure that your Inspire 3 is accurately tracking your steps, confirm the following are correct in the Fitbit app:
Since we use height to estimate your walking and running stride lengths, you may want to measure and manually adjust these values if your legs are longer or shorter than average. For more information, see How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?
On a side note, I was wondering if you use MobileTrack by any chance? If so, please note that MobileTrack could be tracking those extra steps. To verify this, please in the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > then tap Devices. In this section you'll see your Inspire 3 and below your phone (in case MobileTrack is indeed connected).
If the above describes your situation, you can remove MobileTrack by tapping on the phone's icon and then select "Remove From Account".
If you want to negate the extra steps, see How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?
