My inspire 3 has suddenly begun adding thousands of steps in the middle of the night when I’m not wearing it & asleep. It sits on a table with no fan or other moving object. I know I was lazy on Xmas Eve & Xmas Day, so the step count is WAY off.
Why is it doing this?

Hi there, @Trentage. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. I appreciate you've taken the time to attached those pictures for a better understanding of your issue and all the details you've provided. I'll be glad to help you to figure where those extra steps are coming from.
As a first approach, may I know if by any chance, you have MobileTrack also linked to your Fitbit account? If you have MobileTrack connected to your Fitbit app, it could be tracking those extra steps. To verify this, please in the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > then tap Devices. In this section you'll see your Inspire 3 and below your phone (in case MobileTrack is indeed connected).
If the above describes your situation, you can remove MobileTrack by tapping on the phone's icon and then select "Remove From Account".
Nevertheless, to make sure that your Inspire 3 is accurately tracking your steps, confirm the following are correct in the Fitbit app:
Since we use height to estimate your walking and running stride lengths, you may want to measure and manually adjust these values if your legs are longer or shorter than average. For more information, see How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?

I have this same thing happening and it started on 12/24/23. Mine are adding long after I have stopped walking. I would say there is a problem.

The suggestion above about turning off the mobile tracking seems to have worked, so far.

It isn’t labeled “devices” but it’s the icon in the top left corner.
