Inspire 3 - locked in "sync from Fitbit app"

I've studied the internet for advice. It all began with an update from the app--somehow my Inspire 3 is only flashing this "sync from Fitbit app" continuously since them. I've tried turning on and off Bluetooth, turning off Inspie 3 by pressing its sides for nearly 20 seconds, choosing to Forget this Device from my iphone, and even removed the app completely from my iPhone and reinstalling it again, getting it to recognize the Inspire 3 once more (because I have a subscription). The only other thing I can think of doing is to cancel the subscription, but then I would lost about 6 more months on it, and there's no guarantee that the Inspire 3 will ever stop flashing this ridiculous aggravating syncing message.

Is is simply broken? But it was working fine until yesterday, when I tried to update it (because the Fitbit app said I should).

Please help! the Inspire 3 is fairly new, and I don't think I would purchase another one if another update is going to destroy that one, too. Please please please help!

I have the exact same problem and am replying here in hopes that someone else has a solution. I opened a ticket with fitbit two weeks ago but they have basically suggested the things you have tried, or to wait for the next update of the app. It's very frustrating and I hope fitbit can resolve the issue!

Perhaps try plugging it in? I have used that often to force it into a different screen (that might do absolutely nothing but it's an idea)

Yeah, I had the exact same issue with my new Inspire 3 back in March and contacted Fitbit support. After trying everything on my end, they sent me a brand-new replacement device - but the replacement had the same issue after a firmware update. In the end, they told me it’s a firmware problem specific to the iOS app and suggested the following options for now:

- Update the firmware using the Android app
- Wait for the next firmware update

Since I don’t have an Android device, I chose to wait. If you have access to one, I’d recommend updating the firmware using the Android app.

Following up my reply, with the version 4.68 of iOS Fitbit app I managed to recover from “Sync from Fitbit app” screen. Just do firmware update from the app.

Hi everyone and welcome to the new members!

Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention. I'm really sorry to hear that all of you are having issues with your device screens because of the app sync error.

Additionally, I appreciate how all of you did some steps already. Let me help you with the next ones

Please check if your device and the Fitbit app have any updates available. If so, please update them. Also, please follow the steps in this help article to sync your device with the Fitbit app in case you disconnected or unpaired your device. Finally, follow these steps to set up the device again.

Additionally, I would like to suggest offloading the Fitbit app.

Thank you for your response, but it is much too late. I have tried everyting you mentioned in your post--but the point is that the Inpire 2 will not stop trying to update. Your response, though kindly meant, is truly much too late. I have thrown away my Inspire 2 device as it is useless. I am grateful that it taught me how many steps I am taking on average a day, but I do not feel I wish to purchase another one. And I would frankly love to begin wearing wristwatches again, as I have a whole collection of them.

I do hope you might improve your devices in future. I might be temped to buy another one. But I have had enough of your current devices. (and I am sorry to be so harsh. I realize that there must be few humans left on your staff now, and I am grateful that you tried to help. But the help does not work at all. Not your fault!)

Same here and I have done everything suggested more than once. Since I need this info for rewards on my Insurance, I'm seriously considering buy a non- Google owned/branded fitness tracker. One other thing, it does still update calories burned, but only that.

Correction. I was having trouble with the Inspire 3, not the Inspire 2. Since I'd already thrown it away (a rash thing to do, but it was driving me bananas. I let the battery expire, restarted it, tried everything that was suggested, and yet the device kept flashing that it was in updating mode). I was so upset I finally threw it and my charger into the trash.

It was a very good device when it worked, and I was quite fond of it, but if a product like this no longer works correctly, it is worthless. My time is too valuable to waste.
