Inspire 3 losing steps before my eyes

I’ve had my new Inspire 3 for about 5 days, and this is the second day in a row I’ve seen my step count decrease over a few hours. Today, over the past couple of hours my watch has gone from showing over 7k to 5,004, and then as I watched, the numbers in the Fitbit app went down from 5,004 to 4,978. I don’t have any other programs or systems connected. Is my Fitbit defective?

I have notice mine doing that when I am on the treadmill, but when I close the app and reopen it syncs up and gives the right number.

I’ve had my Inspire 3 for about 3 months and found this past two weeks I’ve had the same issue.
I will look at my watch and it’ll be on a certain number, and then I look again and it’s gone down steps, anywhere from 200 to 1000.
When I sync the app I watch the numbers go up and down 2-3 times until it decides what number it wants to land on, often again then losing steps off my watch.

I’ve tried deleting and re-downloading the app (iPhone), and turning the watch off and on again.
Hopefully it’s just a software glitch that will be fixed soon!

I've had the same issue for the last week or so.  My steps count goes up and down all day, seemingly when the tracker syncs with the fitbit app on my phone.  I'm on a samsung S23+

Hi,

Thank you for the warm welcome.

I have updated my iphone to IOS 18.4, and downloaded the Fitbit update (4.39), but unfortunately I’m still getting the same issue with step count numbers
