Inspire 3 lost steps after syncing

I just got my Fitbit inspire 3 today. Just today so it shouldn’t be broken . I hit my goal of 8k steps but after some time it deleted around 3k steps and is showing 4803. I’m not sure what’s going on but it’s very frustrating. My apple health says I did slightly over 8k steps. The Fitbit app also shows 4803 steps. Is my product defective? Is it something I can fix?

Hi there, @Alexiave. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Inspire 3. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you!

By any chance, did you stop wearing and syncing your Inspire 3? Keep in mind that if you stopped wearing/syncing your Fitbit device for a while (I'd say more than 7 days or so),  please note that it's an expected behavior as you should've logged in to sync your Fitbit device before wearing it again. Going a bit deeper into this, note that most Fitbit devices store up to 7 days of detailed minute-by-minute data. If you wait longer than 7 days before syncing, you may only see the most recent week's detailed data. Summary data (calories, distance, steps, and floors) will be stored for 30 days. Nevertheless, if your Fitbit device was unpaired from your Fitbit account during this period of time, neither the 7 days can be recovered or restored.

However, if you remember the exact amount of steps or the name of the activity you performed, you can try manually logging the activity. For more information, see How do I manually log exercises in the Fitbit app?

Hi, no I did not remove my Fitbit. I was walking and felt the vibration for hitting my steps goal then looked at my wrist again after about ten minutes of walking and saw my steps disappeared. I understand I can manually add it in but I got the watch to track it for me to avoid manually doing anything.

I would like to keep the watch but seeing my steps deleted was disappointing. I’d like to see if there’s a way to make this work. I also updated my Fitbit this morning. Also, you mentioned it could be the seven day thing, I just got my Fitbit that day. Today is the second day of me wearing it.
