Hi there, @172MK. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I will be glad to answer your concern.
Please note that this is not possible. Your Inspire 3 will not display "lengths/distance" while you are swimming, you can only get elapsed time on your wrist while swimming. Once you have finished the swim and synced with your Fitbit app on your phone you will get distance etc. For more information, see How do I track swims with my Fitbit device?

I am experiencing the same issue. My FITbit Inspire 3 is showing duration, zone min, and energy burned but no longer showing the distance after I swim.

My Fitbit Inspire 3 now displays duration, zone minutes, and energy burned, but no longer shows distance for all my swims. This change occurred yesterday, and the issue persists today. I just went back, and all the distance data for my swimming has been deleted. It appears that a software change was made that inadvertently deleted the distance for swim activity, current and past. How can we ask someone to look at the problem?

The past two days my Fitbit app on my phone no longer contains a space to show the distance I swam? Why has this option been removed? Also I lane swam this morning for a full hour which usually reflects a three to four hundred calorie burn, but this morning the Fitbit app only shows that Ive burned 73 calories. Has there been an update in the past few days that has caused this to happen?
---
You are not understanding what I am saying. When my Fitbit updates to my phone, the swim feature no longer shows the distance swam. Sure that’s the entire purpose of the swim option; to record the distance you swam; without it it’s useless!
---
I’m experiencing the same issues as you Inyoung1. This is obviously a software issue; been happening for the past two days for me as well. I hope they fix this issue with a new software update soon!
---
I don’t know Ibyoung1. The response from MarreFITBIT states that Fitbit will not show the distance while swimming, but this is not the issue. The issue is that after my swim, and the swim info is updated to the Fitbit app on my phone, the distance swam is no longer included with the stats. I hope one of the techs see this and realize it’s a software issue.

I should have been clearer. Fitbit never has tracked laps/distance while swimming. After swimming I used to get information about the swim including distance. That no longer happens and distance from all previous swims has been deleted.

I'm having the exact same problem. It started yesterday 8/29/25 although I hadn't been in the pool for a few days before that. My swim distance has completely disappeared after I sync with my phone. It also is now missing on all my previous swims as well. I tried to log it in myself today (after it classified my swim as rowing) but even though I logged in the distance, it disappeared when I hit enter. There is something definitely going on as this seems to be a common problem now.

Hi, @172MK , @Sally_Brown , @lbyoung1 , @Dos123 , are you still seeing the absence of lengths on your Fitbit app after swimming? I had thought I was seeing this, but it seemed to resolve over the weekend. My swimming stats this morning (Monday) appear like this -
Let us know by posting here again.

It always recorded distance until a few days ago. That was the purpose of purchasing the Inspire 3. Has there been some kind of software change? Need for update?

I swam for an hour this morning, and my Fitbit is not recording the distance swam. That’s very strange Gr4ndp4 that yours is recording the distance but others are not…? I hope this issue gets elevated to the tech team to initiate a software update!
