I don’t like wearing my Fitbit on my wrist so I bought a clip. While researching I am noticing different opinions on the accuracy of the clip. I work at a desk and often I will raise it so I can step in place. Because of this, I feel like a clip would be best for me. I don't really need the other stats. I mainly want my Fitbit for accurate step counting. Is there any “testing” anyone has done out there? What have your results been? Thank you.

I don't know of any testing, but I think it is obvious that, just for step count, a clip worn on your hip, is more accurate than anything worn on your wrist. Your hip is a more accurate detector of leg movement that your wrist is.

@Jackie19 I have personal experience with a Fitbit One and an Inspire 2 in a clip. Old Fitbit documentation for the One said it could undercount steps if you were walking on something like soft, plush carpet. The same thing might happen if you have an anti-fatigue mat. I also suspect your steps are tiny steps, like I see from people at treadmill desks.
You can test the accuracy yourself by doing little tests with your Fitbit app open on your phone. Your step count is a live stat and you can watch it go up as you take steps. It doesn't always go up by one with each step. It tends to get added by 1-3 steps as I watch mine go up.
Fitbit instructions for Worn on Body seem to treat hip, waistband, pocket, or bra as having equal accuracy. The Worn on body setting changes the programming of the accelerometer.
