Sometime early in the year the resting heart rate calculation method seems to have changed, and now the lovely history over a period of years is absolutely useless. I only stayed with Fitbit to keep this history of my improvements in health, so I’m very disappointed.

Why don’t you add an advanced option in the settings that lets you choose to use the old algorithm, or perhaps even convert the old data to the new algorithm so the relative history is preserved?

@Lightfrantastic I'm not sure that I can give you a better answer or not. I'm a long time user and have RHR data that goes back to 2016. When I look at my RHR graphs, I don't see any abrupt change that suggests a new RHR algorithm. Any change has an explanation -- travel, illness, activity, etc. Why do you think the RHR algorithm changed? It doesn't matter what model Fitbit you use. I've had 12 different Fitbit models on my account and you can't tell when I switch models.

I did switch models too, but that wasn’t when it changed. Something changed between feb and mar 2024, which is where there is a clear discontinuity in the RHR charts, and now the seasonal curve is gone (it used to dip in the summer and go back up in the winter, which makes sense given the effect of sunlight on blood pressure). Looking at the individual daily charts I don’t see the corresponding change in RHR reflected in the detail, so it can only be the RHR calculation that has changed.
