Inspire 3 silent alarms cannot be set in app(!)

I just upgraded to Inspire 3 from my much older Alta. I’m disappointed to discover that silent alarms only be set on the device, not on the iPhone app. Setting alarms on the device is clunky and error-prone. I can see offering it for those who prefer it, but why take away the app access? Silent alarms are one of the major reasons I wear a Fitbit, so for me this is a downgrade. @Fitbit is there a workaround? Why did you do this? Do you plan to restore this feature in the future? Do any of your current tracker models support it?

Does anyone else find this annoying?

Hi @jadelson6  setting alarms on the device has been around for quite some time now. If you don't like it, you can check out this - click to read -the Feature Suggestions area of the forum where you can suggest or vote on an existing idea.

I agree, been with Fitbit since the beginning….this is a step backwards!!

Why can’t we set up the silent alarms in the App anymore!? It’s a step backwards for Fitbit!!

Hi @DerekZane  you probably will not get an answer to your question. It's been on the device for a few years now and many requested it to be that way. Fitbit doesn't tell us why something is done, so I doubt we'll know their reasons.

I echo the frustration and want to test your statement: "and many requested it to be that way."

We are to believe that users lobbied Fitbit to remove the silent alarm setting functionality from the mobile app. There were that many users asking/demanding this downgrade in functionality that Fitbit acquiesced.

How many users demanded the downgrade?

This would tell us how many need to request the functionality return for it to happen.

Looking forward to that number being shared.

@tonyh175  you'd have to ask Fitbit those questions. These are the community forums where other users of Fitbit products interact with other users.

I completely agree. I just got my Fitbit yesterday and noticed the silent alarm is no longer part of the app. It’s a pain setting the alarm on the device. Please put it back in the app. Thank you.
