It sounds like you have you clock face "always-on display" turned on. Check on Quick Settings. I'm not sure on Inspire 3 but on many models it's something that can be easily tapped on by mistake, like many things in Quick Settings.

As @JohnnyRow has mentioned, it sounds like you have "always-on display" enabled. This feature will only show you the time on the main screen all the time, unless you press the button of your watch to see other features and stats. To turn it off, please follow the steps below:
Turning this feature off should help to improve the battery life of your Inspire 3 as having it enabled, your Inspire 3 has a battery life up to 3 days. For more troubleshooting steps, see Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?
