My clock  stays on and runs down battery

It sounds like you have you clock face "always-on display" turned on.  Check on Quick Settings.  I'm not sure on Inspire 3 but on many models it's something that can be easily tapped on by mistake, like many things in Quick Settings.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Hi there, @BettyJones. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Inspire 3.

As @JohnnyRow has mentioned, it sounds like you have "always-on display" enabled. This feature will only show you the time on the main screen all the time, unless you press the button of your watch to see other features and stats. To turn it off, please follow the steps below:

  1. Swipe down from the clock face to access quick settings.
  2. Tap the Settings app > Display settings > Always-on display.
  3. Tap Always-on display to turn the setting on or off. To set the display to automatically turn off during certain hours, tap Off-hours.

Turning this feature off should help to improve the battery life of your Inspire 3 as having it enabled, your Inspire 3 has a battery life up to 3 days. For more troubleshooting steps, see Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?
