I love my fitbit.

I've had it for 2 years but the heart rate monitor, including the flashing lights on the back, just stopped working and just show a blank  _._

In addition the settingd button from the watch itself had disappeared!!!

Help!

Hi there, @overstim-mama. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm sorry to hear that your Inspire 3 stopped tracking your heart rate. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

I'd recommend resetting the heart rate settings on your Inspire 3 by following the steps below:

  • Switch the Heart Rate settings from On to Off and manually sync your watch. To switch the heart rate settings on your Inspire 3, from the main screen of your Fitbit device, open the Settings app > Heart Rate > tap to turn the setting OFF.
  • Once it's done, manually sync your Inspire 3. To do so, open the Fitbit app, tap on the Account icon, tap on your Fitbit device's image and tap on "Sync Now"
  • Next, switch it from Off to On and manually sync your Inspire 3 once again.
  • Once it's done, restart your Inspire 3.
  • Next, confirm that your tracker is snug on your wrist (the lights shouldn't be visible). We also recommend when you're not exercising, wear the tracker just above the wrist bone.

Regarding the button, would you mind giving more details? What do you mean by "it has disappeared"?

Hi there

I cant manually do any of that as my fitbit settings app no longer exists on my Fitbit watch. I don't know how else to explain that. I will first need guidance on how to bring that back before i can complete the other steps.

Tap the Devices icon in the upper left-hand corner of the Today screen on the App and then tap the Inspire 3 icon.  Next, tap the Gallery icon and make sure that the Settings App is installed on your device.

Turns out I'm missing 3 apps. My fitbit app says these apps are installed
on my watch but they are not. Settings, SpO2, Find My Phone.

Does the device restart when it is in a charger and the two side-buttons are pressed for at least 10 seconds? If so, that might help.

I restarted it using that method but nothing changed. Those two apps are
still missing and the heart rate monitor is still not functioning.

That's unfortunate, because there is no way to perform a Factory Reset on an Inspire 3 device without using the Settings App.

It would be worth a try using the App Gallery to change the clockface to something else and then resyncing the device to see if that restores the missing Settings App.  Maybe try restarting the device after changing the clockface as well.

It appears that you are not the only one reporting this issue.

Give this possible solution a try with your Inspire 3.

  1. Forget your Inspire 3 from the Bluetooth settings on your phone.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  3. Open the Fitbit app and tap Devices at the upper left corner.
  4. Select the option to add a new device and choose your Inspire 3.
  5. Tap Replace Device and follow the on-screen instructions.

So i followed these steps although i wasnt given a "replace device" option.

I still dont see the settings app. It has to be the watch itself that is having issues. Is it possible to get it looked at or replaced?

The Inspire 3 only has a 1-year Factory warranty, so getting a replacement device won't be possible, but someone with a Charge 6 was having the same issue, so it is probably not a bad device (corrupt firmware or software issue is more likely).

Try contacting Customer Support to see if they can help resolve the issue. A 4.34 Fitbit App update was just released, so it is a bit suspicious that someone with an Inspire 3 and Charge 6 device would both be having exactly the same issue.
