Inspire 3 stopped working after getting wet

Hi everyone,

After taking a shower this morning, my device stopped functioning properly. I’ve never had this problem before, even after water exposure, but this time it seems to have malfunctioned. The screen is now black except for five black dots displayed across it. The second dot is empty, and the third one is in green. The device doesn't respond to touch or any of the usual button combinations.

Could you please help me troubleshoot this issue or advise me on how to restore it?
Thank you in advance!

Best regards,
Maya

@Matanayeva I'm glad to hear that you managed to solve the issue with your Inspire 3.

Regarding to your inquiry, please note most Fitbit devices are water-resistant to 50 meters. They're designed to be swimproof and stand up to even the sweatiest of workouts. See our user manuals for specifics as to whether your device is swimproof or splashproof. For more detailed information, see Can I swim or shower with my Fitbit device?

Hi there, @Matanayeva. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Inspire 3 is still unresponsive. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

If your device got wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. On the other hand, if your device has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser and dry it with a lint free-cloth.

If you've done the above but to no avail, please confirm that you've tried restarting your Inspire 3 by following these steps.

If the restart doesn't work and your Inspire 3 didn't vibrate during the process, I suggest trying the following:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again.
