I updated to the most recent firmware a couple days ago and since then my screen has gone completely blank and the battery life has deteriorated rapidly - the most recent full charge barey lasted 2 hours. Tried all online troubleshooting suggestions without success so I called support. I was told that my warranty is expired and a modest discount on a new device was the best offer they could provide. It doesn’t feel like a big leap to suggest the defects in the device were due to the firmware update and the warranty should be irrelevant as the company’s own firmware is the cause.

Hi there, @Bdj1985. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm sorry to hear about your Inspire 3. We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products and services into consideration.
Please note that our products are indeed designed and made to last (this goes for each product component) however, there is not an infallible way to ensure that no issues will be present in the long run. Because of this, our Warranty Policy is set into providing as much coverage as we can. For more information about our warranty, see fitbit.com/legal/returns-and-warranty
Even though I truly appreciate you took the time to come here and express your feelings towards your experience with your Inspire 3 and also want to find a resolution to your issue, my best advice is to keep the conversation with our Support Team. Note for this kind of inquiries/cases/process, there's not so much we here in the forums can do for you as this is something that our team handles based on our policies.
Thanks in advance!

I’ve always seen updating firmware as a high risk operation because there is always a chance that if it goes wrong then something that was working can be bricked and become totally useless.
If the firmware update doesn’t add any feature you need then pass, don’t do it unless you have to.
