Inspire 3 stops adding new steps when near a steps goal

My Inspire 3 stops adding new steps (sometimes) when I am near a steps goal. I can walk from room to room and it says I did zero steps extra. I am disabled and work very hard to get my steps in. It is very frustrating when it does not add my steps in. This has caused me to miss my goals on occasion.
