Inspire 3 won't charge to 100%

I just purchased an Inspire 3 and I charged it to 99, because it would not get to 100%, took it off the charge, then it said it was only 1% charged,  Did it a second time, right back to 1% and did it a 3rd time and back to 1%. This thing will not keep a charge and I clean the nodes even though they are clean as a whistle and tried other methods.

I bought this strictly for the battery life and it's worse than the 20$ fitness tracker I had before.

Hi there, @DCSNB506. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Inspire 3 is not charging properly.

There are some issues that affect this, being which power source is used and how clean the contacts are and how well the charger is seated. As per the description of your post, it could be a sign the contacts need cleaning. Confirm that you've tried all tips and recommendations provided here Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

Please make sure your Inspire 3 is receiving good power source, please find below some tips to best charge Fitbit devices:

  • Use only genuine Fitbit charging cables
  • Avoid USB battery packs
  • Charge at room temperature

For charging purposes, your charging cable or your base station can be plugged into any USB power source, including but not limited to:

  • A computer
  • A Wall A/C to USB adapter, commonly found with smartphones
  • A DC to USB adapter (vehicle power port)

It can take more than 10-15 mins to go from 99% to 100%. Personally, I never tend to charge my electronic devices to 100%, I've learned that the best way I can preserve the battery life is when I charge them to 80%. I charge them when the battery is at 20% then wait until it's at 80%.

I've used two different ports on each of these two devices [A computer (IMac) & A Wall A/C to USB adapter, commonly found with smartphones] and still charges to 99% and when I take it off the charger, right back to 0.
