Inspire 3 won't show my HR while biking all the time

Hi...just bought an Inspire 3...**ahem** comfy. My only reason i bought it is I need a HRM for my biking. I changed the display so it has the clock and the bigger HRM showing. Thats perfect.

But I put it on "display always on"....and the "Long" time out and it still doesnt keep the display on. I'm not worried about the battery life as I'm just need this function when I'm biking. I want to look down and see the display on...not having to turn my wrist each time. Is there a way to use it like I want to?  The Long time out is to short...a longer one would also help me alot. Maybe an option that can be added in later as an update.

Thanks!!!

Hi, @JJ90 , the Inspire 3 has a special option during exercise to keep the display on.  First make sure Biking is among your exercise shortcuts.  To check this go to your Fitbit app on your phone/tablet.  From the opening, Today, screen click on the person photo/icon to go to the Account screen and then on the Account screen click on the picture of your Inspire 3.  Scroll to find “Exercise shortcuts” and make sure Biking is there.  You are allowed 6 shortcuts, so if you want to add any you may have to delete one you don’t use first.  You can also reorder the shortcuts by dragging and dropping so that activities you use most often come up first.  If you make any changes be sure to sync your Fitbit so changes made in the app are reflected on your wrist.

When you are ready to start your biking, on your Inspire 3 swipe left to come to exercise shortcuts and then, if necessary, swipe up to find Biking.  Tap to open.  Then the next steps are the important one.  Swipe up to get to the settings menu for your activity and find “Always on”.  Tap to turn it on.  Do the same for any other settings you want on or off (GPS, heart rate notifications, etc.) Then swipe down to go back to the Start screen.

The final step is, once you press to start, you will see that one stat is highligted in the centre of the screen.  Tap to scroll through the options.  Make sure that Heart rate is your chosen central stat.  Once it is in the center it will stay there until/unless you tap to see another stat.  The screen will stay on throughout your Biking session.

When you finish, be sure to swipe up to pause and then finish your activity.  You will see info on your wrist about time, pace and heart rate.

When you sync your Fitbit you will have a record on your app of your biking activity.

As you are aware, having the display always on will impact battery life, so you may want to charge up your Inspire on days when you use this feature.

I hope this helps.  Welcome to the forums!

Hi Julia! I'm sorry I never knew I had a reply to my question. But thank you for the help!

I will try your sugestions but what I did was something I should have years ago. I mounted my fone to the front of my bike...and I now look at my heartrate via the fone app. That works much better for biking. I just have to hold my wrists the correct way to get the BPM accurately but I like riding like that anyway.

Best Regards!

JJ
