I dont understand how these zone minutes work. One day I stationary bike I'm going 16mph and do 8 mile in 30 min . It says I'm not in the zone .other days I'm going 14 moh and says I'm in burn zone etc. How does this calculate.  The days I feel I worked the hardest show I'm at the lowest burn zone minutes

It's all just based on heart rate.  Tap on the "Zone Minutes" circle on phone app and it will show the heart rate limits for the different zones for you.  You would expect when you feel you are working the hardest, you heart rate would be highest, but would have to watch heart rate while exercising or look at exercise log afterward to verify.  It is possible it just wasn't recording your heart correctly.  You should get one zone minute for every minute in fat burn zone, and 2 zone minutes if in cardio zone.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
