Inspire 3 won't track my steps accurately

My inspire 3 steps/distance tracking does not appear to be accurate. During my 4 mile run, it only counts 2.5 miles and the equivalent steps.

I have tried to reduce the auto track feature, but you cannot go lower than 15 minutes, which is dumb. I have tried turning off the auto track feature, but it still does not count. It only shows my “in zone” activity, but no equivalent steps.

My old and simple Alta HR used to count everything.

Are there any solutions to fixing this?
