Inspire 3 won't track my steps and distance accurately

The last 2 days my fairly new Inspire three has clocked my distance, steps & pace wrong for my treadmill workouts. I am under the supervision of physical therapists so I have been doing the same settings on the same treadmill. I have been doing roughly 30 minutes at 2 mph. As you can see from the screen shot below, yesterday & today are way off.

If you are holding hand rails, steps will not get counted because arms are not swinging, and without steps, you will not get distance.
Alternatively you can put fitbit in your pocket and get good step count and distance, but lose heart rate data and all that goes with that.

That is an unfortunate truth for all wrist-worn trackers.  It also affects any activity where the wrist is held firm such as pushing a baby buggy or shopping cart.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Due to balance issues, I always have to hold onto the hand rails & it was never a problem logging the distance & steps correctly as long as I activate the treadmill under exercise & stop & end it when I am done. It has only been the last 2 days that it hasn’t.
