My daughters just got her Fitbit today, but it’s constantly reporting her heart rate over 100+. I’ve swapped hers with mine (exact same model) and it’s reporting a much more normal 70bpm. Having actually felt her pulse.. it’s definitely her Fitbit that’s the problem.
It’s positioned correctly on her wrist, and she put mine on with the same strap and tightness.
Any assistance to resolve this would be appreciated!

Hi, @Melsey1 welcome to the community, you may be interested in this article How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit device? HR is a very important data stream because many of the metrics use it as the base of their calculations. If your issue persists I recommend you talk to "Customer Support" using the Chat facility or phone for a prompt response. It's a good move to make a note of the steps you have taken and the results along with the date & place of purchase so the agent can accurately focus on potential causes.
I hope this helps.
Cheers
