Is it possible to reclassify autodetected sleep period as "awake"?

I'm often awake but resting with a low HR (e.g. reading in bed, or staring at the clock for 2 hours, hoping to sleep 🙃). My Inspire 3 classes these periods as light sleep, or "light sleep"/"awake" periods alternating every few minutes. This overestimates my total sleep time (and that cascades to miscalculation of readiness, etc.)

When the "Time Asleep" chart shows periods of time with frequently alternating red/blue stripes, it would be great to allow the user to reclassify that stretch of time as fully "Awake". Is that possible to do?

Thanks!

@DonkeyDuck  No, you didn't miss any sleep feature.  I try to make my best guess when I edit a start or stop time.  I think it's fair for Fitbit to count the middle of the night awakenings as awake time and you shouldn't try to edit them out.

Hello @DonkeyDuck and welcome to the Community.  Sleep is an EEG diagnosis.  Fitbit uses your lack or wrist movement and other physiologic data to determine sleep.  You can edit your sleep start time to reflect when you think you fell asleep.  Tap on a sleep record, then tap on the three dots in the upper right of your mobile app.  Tap on the Edit Log option, then adjust the start time.

Thank you @LZeeW! I don't expect Fitbit to match an EEG, but that's why I was hoping it was possible to contribute my own information to Fitbit's algorithm by manually reclassifying a specific period of time. Two brains better than one! 🙂

I have edited the sleep period start and end times, and that's helpful. But trimming the sleep period loses the data that shows sleep latency period and affects the calculation of % of time awake. And then, often periods of wakefulness occur in the middle of the night between sleep periods, so editing the start/end times doesn't work in those cases.

I was just wondering if that was a feature that I hadn't stumbled across yet.

Thanks again!

I agree! I don't want to edit the mid-sleep waking periods out, I actually want to emphasize it. For example, I would like to edit a period when I was awake for an hour in the middle of the night so that it shows as "all red" rather than alternating red and blue every few minutes (since there was actually no sleep in that hour). But thank you for confirming that that isn't a feature, and I appreciate your responses! 🙂
