Issues with Daily Distance Erroneous Unit Conversions (Sum of day's distance =/= Daily Distance)

I am experiencing two issues with the iOS Fitbit App with the Inspire 3. Note that my units are and have always been set to miles.

Issue 1: Daily distance goal has erroneous miles>km conversion and presents it as miles.

I have my daily distance goal set to 3 miles. On past days, this shows correctly as 3 miles, however on the current day, it shows as 1.86 miles (and yes, it does show it as miles, not km). The ratio of 1.86 to 3 miles is the ratio of miles to km conversion (1.609 km = 1 mile). So, this seems to be an issue. Prior to the last software update, the daily goal for all days showed as 1.86 miles, even though it was set to 3 miles in my settings.

Issue 2: The sum of a day's hourly distance does not add to presented daily distance. Again, daily distance here is for some reason 1.609 * sum(day's hourly distance). Again, all of it is presented as miles (as it should be), but there is for some reason multiplication by the miles>km factor.

For example, if I add up all of a day's hourly distances, and it adds to 2 miles, the daily distance will show it as 3.22 miles.

Questions:

1) Is there a way to fix these issues? In an old thread I read, it mentioned changing unit settings online in a browser, but I have found no such settings (maybe it used to exist pre-Google?). I have also submitted these issues in feedback.

2) What's so frustrating is this seems like possibly the most basic thing Google/Fitbit would have to get right (i.e. not messing up basic distance conversions). How can I trust anything else if this extremely basic accounting is wrong? How does no one notice this bug in testing?

3) Is this likely an issue with just the app, or is all of the data collection itself likely similarly compromised?
