Map Inaccuracies During/After Exercise Tracking

I've had some problems and I've seen various people reporting similar:

  • Walk route maps are very inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Walk route maps disappear when exercise ends.
  • The voiceover telling me how far I've walked and my pace is way, way off.  By a favor of 2x or more.  Then at the end, the step count and distance look OK but the map is wrong.  Or some combination thereof.
  • I track the exact same walks, runs, and hikes with my Oura ring and in their app, everything is fine.

I tried contacting support but ended up playing Turing chess with an AI.  I could not make AI understand that I was offering screenshots of the same walk (Oura versus Fitbit) for debugging purposes.  AI suggested that I reboot my Fitbit.

Hi, @PrometheusBound, welcome. Did you reboot? May I suggest you delete & reload the Fitbit app on your phone? The Belt & braces process is as follows. (On an Android Phone - iOS will be similar) Sync your Fitbit app to preserve your data. Go to the Fitbit app in your phone settings, force stop>clear storage & cache>go to connected devices & forget the Inspire 3>delete the Fitbit app>RESTART YOUR PHONE>reload the Fitbit app from the official play store>log on with your Google account>restart your Inspire 3 (swipe down from the clock screen to "Settings">swipe up to the bottom to restart) set up your Inspire 3 again.

You may find these articles interesting: How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device? - Fitbit Help Center & How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device? - Fitbit Help Center, which covers the issues you report.

While I do not know anything about the Oura ring & assume it too depends on the GPS on your cellphone (you do not mention which make, model & OS your cellphonehas)

I hope this helps.

Cheers
