My opinion about the Inspire 3

"Pixel Watch is our smartwatch part of the portfolio”, and confirmed any potential future Fitbit hardware would be band-based trackers, not smartwatch designs.

“[T]rackers is where users clearly tell us they want something discreet," Waraich said. "They want longer battery life, they want a simple experience and we are very proud of our Inspire line."

That's good news for Inspire 3 Users, but Google needs to start doing a much better job managing the device FW and App SW development for the Inspire 3, because their 'A' team is clearly not assigned to that device for FW/SW development now.

I agree with you regarding FW/SW development. If the article is correct, then it is clear that Google is axing the Fitbit brand/technology in favor of their Pixel Watch brand. I think it can be inferred that they are abandoning Fitbit users in all respects: FW/SW development (and TESTING!), customer (non)support, and everything else that would normally occur with a technology product. As someone who spent decades in IT and was heavily involved in software development and support, all I can say is this is a huge fail for Fitbit/Google. Were this to happen in my company, those responsible for such a debacle would have been immediately fired. But then, we cared about our customers’ satisfaction with our products and services.

I have a Fitbit One, which has been going strong since 2015. Something happened in the app on or around August 26 or 27. The device is still tracking steps and syncing on the app daily, but when you look at today's data tomorrow, it's gone. Many of us have reported this issue in the community forums and chatting with reps but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears. We're told the Fitbit team is aware and that it will be fixed with the next update, but the issue persists even after uninstalling & reinstalling the latest update(s). It's been more than a month, and I'm no tech genius and don't know the tech involved in the app, but I have a hard time believing tech giant Google can't figure this out or fix the issue. They simply don't want to.

I'm already doing research on the best Garmin for my needs, which is sad b/c I've really enjoyed my One and the Fitbit interface, but I'm convinced that the migration to Google has something to do with it.

I'll chime in, too, regarding Inspire 3. I started my Fitbit journey in 2016 with a Fitbit Charge 2. It broke in a few months, and Fitbit sent me a new one after troubleshooting. Despite its broken screen, my Charge 2 is still going strong; however, I can't say the same about the other ones that I bought - once the screen broke, I decided to get a Charge 4, which broke a bit after 1 year (so, after warranty), then I got a Charge 5, that, again broke a bit after one year *post warranty again). So, I didn't want to spend money on another Fitbit that would last just a bit more than one year. Nobody should plan to buy a device per year; shame on Google for the quality.

Anyway, I didn't expect Inspire 3, my last acquisition,  to be a piece of garbage that doesn't track anything well. I go on (clearly marked and with the phone on) runs: 6km shows 3.25km on the Fitbit, and 7km shows 3.8km. Running on the treadmill shows the same, no matter the stride length, so I have to constantly enter my workouts manually, only to have them disappear the next day. I knew I was downgrading with Inspire, but I didn't expect it to be useless for workouts and only be used as a watch. If Google plans to discontinue the Fitbit line, it shouldn't sell them anymore and only keep the team supporting the existing customers with discontinued products. This is a sure way for Google to lose its customers
