No HRV data for several days on Inspire 3.

For the past few days I have not received any HRV data.  What is weird is that health metrics indicate "5 of 5 in personal range" (which includes HRV) but the HRV detail indicates "no data in the past 24 hours".  How can I have HRV data in the personal range but no data?  Anybody have any thoughts on this issue?

Welcome back to the community, @Blue24.

Thank you for letting me know about this situation in regards to the heart rate variability on your Inspire 3.

I recommend you to check this article to help improve this situation with the heart rate, since there are certain things to take into consideration about this. Let me know how it goes once you've checked and followed the tips in the article.

Thanks for the reply and the link.  I have no issues with seeing my heart rate.  I receive sleep data with no problems.  I have no issue with resting heart rate - I see the resting heart rate data in health metrics.  I have data for all the health metrics except HRV.    As I noted in my earlier post, health metrics indicates I have " 5 of 5 in personal range".  HRV is noted to be in my personal range.  However, the HRV detail indicates "no data in the past 24 hours".   There is obviously a conflict here in the data presentation but I don't know how to resolve it.  I tried uninstalling the Fitbit app (android) and reinstalling.  I tried deleting the Fitbit app cache.  I tried restarting the Inspire and my phone.  Nothing I tried has resolved the issue. I don't know if this is meaningful but the last HRV data point I had seemed to be an aberration - it was outside (high) my personal range.  No HRV data after that occurrence.  Prior to this event I was getting HRV data with no problems.

Wonder if deleting say 7-10 days of recent HRV data would do any good?

@Blue24, are you getting the detailed sleep stage chart or just the basic sleep pattern chart (horizontal bars) when the HRV heart metric fails to return?

I am getting my detailed sleep stages.  I see awake, REM, light, and deep sleep times.  It all looks good to me.  Wonder of wonders, this morning I had my first HRV data point in several days.  I noticed my HRV personal range changed with this latest data point.  Maybe the Fitbit does not provide any data when it determines a range change is required and once the range is established data once again appears?  I don't know.  I will see what tomorrow provides.

Unfortunately I did not receive any SpO2 data.  I know there are possible reasons.  Again, I will see what tomorrow provides.

Interesting; the HRV is one of the things that is used to determine the sleep stages and it is only returned when the sleep stages can be determined, so it is strange that the HRV isn't being returned in your case.

The SpO2 return can be spotty at times, but I get mine returned most of the time.

I don't know why I have seen this (detailed sleep data w/o HRV data).  Guess I will see what happens in the next few days.  I did not know HRV data were used to determine sleep stages.  Thanks for the information.

This excerpt is from the Fitbit SDK documentation:

"There are many factors that can affect a user’s HRV value. Recording the data while a person is asleep allows the Fitbit device to correctly and accurately collect HRV data. Data is only processed when the user is still. If a user moves too much or their sleep session is too short, this can prevent HRV data from being processed correctly. In addition, if recorded data is incapable of computing specific sleep stages for a period of sleep, this will compromise the user’s ability to retrieve an HRV value."

Time to perform a Factory Reset and if that doesn't fix it, then return it for a replacement because it is defective.

  • Use phone settings to unpair the Inspire 3 device from the phone
  • Uninstall the app
  • Restart your phone
  • Put the Inspire 3 device into the charging cradle, confirm that it is charged to at least 30%, and then press/hold the two side buttons for at least 10 seconds
  • Confirm that the Inspire 3 is displaying a Fitbit logo and a message to download the app
  • Confirm that your phone has an Inspire 3 device showing up as an available BT device for pairing
  • Reinstall the app
  • Complete the device setup

Thank you for that informative response.  In my case I am getting sleep stages.  What I do not understand is why the health metrics state my HRV is my personal range but the HRV detail indicates data is not available. Most confusing.
