Not accurate counting steps

I just bought a new inspire 3. My first Fitbit. It doesn’t count steps accurately at all. It records all movements as steps. Even when it sits on my dresser it recorded steps. It’s useless as a step counter at this point. What is the solution or I take it back to the store. So disappointed.

Hi @Aiya  these are wrist based devices, so you might need to change the settings a bit. I also have the Inspire 3, but it's never added steps when I'm not wearing it. Is it possible it picked up vibrations from something? I have a friend who knits and found the Fitbit would pick up steps but it was actually knitting. It's the reverse if you're pushing a shopping cart or stroller and your hands aren't swinging. See this article on accuracy - click to read - to see if anything helps you. There are ways to remove unwanted steps too.
