Not enough heart rate data available....

Looking at various threads, this bug has been ongoing literally for years now: you accomplish your workout routine, go into the app to check on the map how your heart was doing on each portion of the route you ran or biked, and ....nothing appears! Heartrate has been recorded as it shows on the heart tile but somehow can't get mapped on your route..... so it seems Fitbit still can't get it right and the only workaround seems to be to start the workout from the device itself and not into the app. Okay.....if only it worked flawlessly at that point... maps that miss most of the workout now... not very helpful. I'm so disappointed with the lack of reliability of the product and its software, and with the support apparently all folks reporting the issue have received over the months. In my instance, I was told a few days ago that the issue was escalated, after spending a fair amount of time explaining on a chat what was the issue - as if the thread "not enough heart rate data" didn't ring a bell, really?? - and then nothing at all. Moving to samsung gears is my next step, as it seems fitbit won't provide much help? Or will they finally provide a fix and let me be satisfied with my purchase? @SunsetRunner , A warm welcome to the Community ! Thank you for your message and feedback.

It seems that you are using MobileTrack and MobileRun.

MobileRun is a feature in the App that uses the sensors on your phone to track your steps, during a walk, hike or run, if you do not take your Fitbit with you.

If you record an activity with this, you won't see a heart rate as the phone cannot detect and record your heart rate.

MobileTrack, is a feature to count your steps using your phone too. If you are using this and a Fitbit it may happen that the steps recorded with your phone might overwrite the ones recorded with your Fitbit or viceversa. This feature is thought to be used, if you left your Fitbit at home (eg. charging) but you still want your steps, recorded by your phone to your account.

Please remove MobileTrack from your account , and try using either Connected GPS or the integrated one on the Charge 4 to record your activity.

@SunsetRunner   The Inspire 3 has connected GPS, so it uses the GPS sensors your phone.  If you use the Exercise app on the Inspire 3 (you start and stop your workout on the device), and your settings are correct, you will get your map and heart rate data.  Like I wrote in my response to your post in the Charge 5 forum, starting and stopping the workout on the device is the correct track your workout, not the workaround.

How do I track my workouts on my Fitbit device?

Starting from the app doesn't use connected GPS, then? What about the autodetect feature?

Since the app gets the heart data, thus "knows" the tracking device is worn on the wrist, doesn't it seem odd that it can't get all the data together, GPS and heart rate, whatever the way employed to trigger a workout recording?

I understand from your answer that I need to get the recording started from the device itself. However it remains disappointing that there is no convergence between the different ways it can be recorded. But this is certainly out of your hands, so thank you for your time and explanations.

@SunsetRunner , Thank you for your reply and feedback.

If you start the activity on the Fitbit app, you'll be using MobileRun. As explained before, it uses the info taken by your phone. That's why you don't get hear rate measured.

As your Inspire 3 need the Fitbit App to be running to get GPS connection Smart Track (Autodetection) won't connect To the GPS automatically when an activity is recognized.
