Question about Inspire 3

I am thinking of getting my husband the Inspire 3 for his birthday.

He really only cares about three things:

(1) Slim/light weight/minimalist design

(2) Telling time

(3) Knowing what distance he's run (GPS of the exact path he's run is not necessary)

The Inspire 3 covers the first two fine, but I can't seem to find a clear answer for number 3 with the few reviews I've read online. It seems like you can definitely track your distance run if you link it to your phone's GPS, but he doesn't run with his phone. Does the the inspire 3 alone track your distance run, without having to connect it to your phone/gps?

@umanikhat the Inspire 3 does not have on-board GPS. To track his runs, he would need to have his phone with him to use connected GPS. The Charge 5 does have on-board GPS, so you may want to consider that instead.
