Screen wake is no longer working on my Inspire 3

When I got my Fitbit it would vibrate and turn on whenever I folded my wrist towards my body. (I have fat wrists.) I turned the buttons off and for a few days it was fine. Now it has started to not turn on when I tap the screen. I have to fling my wrist up to wake it. It doesn't always wake if I just bring it up to look at it. Once I do if I fold my wrist it vibrates, which wouldn't be a problem, but it also does this if my phone wakes when I'm not looking at it and say, I'm trying to sleep or relax. The random vibration and having to fling my wrist to wake it is getting annoying.

Hi there, @DerpsyDaisy. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and sharing the details about the issue with your Inspire 3.

To better assist you, have you made sure that the screen wake feature is still enabled? If you haven't done so yet, please go to your quick settings and check if the screen wake has been accidentally been turned off. To do so, swipe down from the clock screen to access the quick settings. Here you can change whether the screen turns on when you turn your wrist. For more information, see How do I navigate my Fitbit device?

If the above doesn't describe your issue, please verify whether your Inspire 3 is in sleep mode.

  • Notifications, goal celebrations, and reminders to move are muted.
  • The screen's brightness is set to dim.
  • The Always-On Display clock face is turned off.
  • The screen stays dark when you turn your wrist.
  • The sleep mode icon illuminates in the quick settings.

The auto wake is on and sleep mode is off.

It still comes on about 75% of the time. It just seems to be bad at detecting whether I'm looking at it or just moving my wrist around. Then sometimes it doesn't wake when I tap it. I have turned the buttons off but they still close the screen and vibrate when the clock face is on. If it didn't wake when I wasn't looking at it or didn't vibrate when it went to sleep it would probably be fine.

Hi, @DerpsyDaisy , check that you have not got "Water Lock" engaged - if you have the clock screen will probably have a banner telling you it's on - this disables the screen for swimming. Two double taps of the clock screen will turn the water lock off.

If you are being disturbed at night you can disable the auto-illumination & vibrations by setting the sleep mode. From the clock screen swipe down to & touch "Settings">quiet mode>swipe up to sleep mode>schedule "on">interval, set the time between which you want to sleep>squeeze the side buttons to return to the clock face.

I hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

Cheers

I forgot about sleep mode. It won't fix the poor auto wake detection or my fat wrists, but should help when I'm trying to go to sleep. Thanks!
