Should I keep MobileTrack if I have an Inspire 3?

Hello,

I just got my Fitbit Inspire 3 and my question is if should remove or keep my phone connected to the App?
When I work I walk  a lot and meanwhile my Phone is in my bag, also at Home I Walk. So yesterday my Watch showed me 10.000 Steps and after Synchronisation I was at around 6000 Steps.

I don’t know what I should do? Is it more accurate, when the phone is connected or not?

Hi there, @melmel97_. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post, I understand your concern. I will do my best to help you with your inquiry.

Please note that MobileTrack could be tracking those extra steps. We recommend using MobileTrack to track your stats when you leave your Fitbit device at home. For more information about how MobileTrack works, please check this help article

If you want to remove MobileTrack, you can remove it by tapping on the phone's icon and then select "Remove From Account".

On a side note, to make sure that your Inspire 3 is tracking your steps and distance accurately, I'd suggest to confirm that the following are correct in the Fitbit app:

Since we use height to estimate your walking and running stride lengths, you may want to measure and manually adjust these values if your legs are longer or shorter than average. For more information, see How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?

Also, please keep in mind that excess vibration might cause extra steps. Fitbit devices have a finely-tuned algorithm for step counting. The algorithm is designed to look for intensity and motion patterns. When working at a desk, cooking, or performing other activities with arm movements, a device on your wrist may add some steps. When you’re doing activities that involve arm movement you often walk a few steps in-between stationary periods as well, so the device tries to give you credit for those steps.
