Hello Fitbit Community,
I, too, have noted an abrupt change in the accuracy of my sleep stats on a relatively new (3 months old) Inspire 3 in the last month or so.
It is consistently under-reporting my total sleep duration by up to an hour each nite, as compared to almost 15 years of Fitbit sleep data and 10 years of parallel SleepOn device data.
Interestingly, for about 2 seconds after I manually edit & enter my known sleep start & finish times, the value for my sleep duration that I had subjectively anticipated flashes on my I-Phone Fitbit app screen.
But, then, it acts as if the algorithm takes over and switches to a “super-sensitive” setting or something.
And consistently adds nearly an hour of awake-time to my sleep stages display, reducing that duration of sleep in the other stages.
i have tried switching back & forth between the 2 options for regular & sensitive settings, restoring the factory settings, rebooting my Fitbit & I-Phone, re-pairing them on Bluetooth, etc., but with no improvement.
Until I read the many other similar posts on this community thread, I had thought it was all due to my letting my Fitbit’s battery run down to 0% about month ago, and then the device rebooting on the next re-charge. which coincidentally happened in late June.
i will go back and confirm that it was on or around 6-24 or 6-25.
If this issue is, in fact, a bug introduced into the algorithm, I also hope that the engineers can fix the program ASAP, since there are major downstream effects in the Fitbit app (Readiness, etc.) and linked apps (Apple Health, etc.) to this mis-recording & reporting of our sleep stats.
There may also be a case to be made that Fitbit Premium users are being billed for a currently-flawed system that is generating bogus results upon which we are supposed to plan our day’s activities.
Thanks again for sharing & allowing me to share on this forum
PS: my first attempt to post this message was flagged and blocked as violating Fitbit’s community forum rules.
All due to the fact that it contained the following text (but in digits with a hyphen): forty-five to sixty.
Here is the censor’s (AI?) machine message I just got:
“The message body contains *** (= the above time duration reference), which is not permitted in this community. Please remove this content before sending your post.”
What’s up with that?!
