Sudden heart rate spike glitch?

So I'm laying in bed very calm and I look at my Fitbit and my pulse reading is just going up and up, all the way to 140s and I'm like really concerned by this so I take out my blood pressure monitor and my pulse is 68 

I've had my Fitbit for less than a week and it's like every day there's a new glitch. First it wasn't reading my heart rate, then it's constantly losing gps connection, then it's taking forever to sync, then it's not lighting up when I turn my wrist to look at it, now it's giving random heart rate spikes. I have the inspire 3. Is this a defective unit or is this just the fitbit experience?
