I have been complaining about the apps logging of sleep for weeks now. I don’t mean the actual tracking because that’s fine but rather How the app is handling it. Here is the perfect example of what I mean, but from The flip end of it.
so this is fine because as you can see the cursor at the end of our sleep, log the time matches the end time. that is precisely how it should be. However, lately if I extend the sleep time, it really adds all the minutes until the new end time but not actually changing the sleep. in this case it did it. However, check out the next photo, which was taken an example of the same sequence as this one so no other changes have been made
this has never happened this way before because Fitbit doesn't allow it, and for good reason. but you can see how messed up Fitbit’s managing of the logs has been. You can’t have two logs overlapping—it’s impossible, but I added a sleep log because that’s the only way to get it accurate since Fitbit Has not been Incorporating it correctly in the rest of the sleep when you edit it. But here, in this very unusual case, I had added a sleep log, and then when I opened it back up again, it decided to incorporate that last hour, but still kept the added log, but not the total added time.
so google, will you finally fix this thing now? Now that I have clear proof of how it’s not working the way that is supposed to be? It’s the same issue; it’s just the reverse presentation. now if you can guarantee this reverse presentation, as my photos show, I would actually be OK with that because the information is still right and it’s evident. In a reply to this I’ll show you what it looks like when it goes the other way, which is just infuriating.
but this is a perfect example of how absolutely wrong and screwed up the app is and an easy way to demonstrate it. the core issue is the same and that is the app’s handling of logs, not the actual tracking. the tracker is fine—the sleep registered is still correct and the same but the presentation of it is wrong.

Same issue here. Sometimes when I sync my sleep it misses some of the start or the end. So I would edit the sleep (edit start time OR end) and it would recalculate everything. Fine.
But Now (recently), it just adds the entire extra added time to total sleep, and does not recalculate the Sleep Timeline where you see start time, end time and REM, Deep etc - none of this is recalculated . The sleep score also does not recalculate, since that is dependent on the sleep timeline.
This is a bug which needs fixing.

Thank you for validating with your own experience. This has been months of inconsistency and I keep hoping helplessly, and hopelessly it seems, that someone with a brain will catch on to this and actually do something to fix the app. How many times and in how many ways does it need to come to the attention of someone who can and will actually do something to address it? With the number of updates that go out you would think this would’ve been addressed at least once.
