Hi
Is there any way to change your settings so your fit bit only records you as being asleep when your heart rate falls significantly below your resting heart rate?
My resting heart rate is normally around 58/60 but looking at my sleep chart it has recorded me as being asleep when my heart rate was 56/57 bpm. I was awake during this time as I have sleep disorders. I know for a fact I fell asleep for about a hr last night and my resting heart rate was about 52 on the graph. So I was wondering if you could change something so it only tracks a significant drop in heart rate as time spent asleep. I'm trying to get a more clear picture of my sleep habits to discuss with my doctor, but fit bit says I'm asleep for a good 7 hours when I have just been in bed trying to sleep or watching tv.
Thanks
😊

Hi, @Insomniac2023! Sorry to hear you're having a difficult time. For now, I would suggest that you can manually update your sleep time to when you know you're sleeping, even though this isn't a very satisfactory answer. I would also suggest you post this request in the Product Feedback forum for consideration in a future update.

Hi, @MakMak thanks for the insight! And welcome to the Fitbit Community @Insomniac2023, I'm happy to see you here posting.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and giving your feedback in regards to the resting heart rate tracked by your Inspire 3 when sleeping.
As @MakMak mentioned, my best recommendation for you would be posting this idea in the Product Feedback board in the community, since this section is regularly monitored by the team of developers. Make sure to post your idea including as many details as possible.

@Insomniac2023 Sleep is an EEG diagnosis. Your Fitbit uses your lack of movement and heart rate variability (among other things) to estimate sleep. My background is physiology. I'm sorry, but you are making a false assumption that a significant heart rate drop lower than your RHR indicates sleep. There are several external factors that affect your heart rate. I understand your concerns and I think it's reasonable to edit your sleep logs when you know you are awake. But your request is inconsistent with known sleep physiology.
It's my personal opinion that sleep details from a wrist worn wearable (every brand, not just Fitbit) aren't helpful for people with known sleep disorders. Again, sleep is an EEG diagnosis and wearables estimate sleep.
