Using Water Lock on Inspire 3

My husband and I both have an Inspire 3. Mine is new, his is over a year old. I had a Fitbit Luxe and always used the Water Lock setting when I went into a pool or shower. The Inspire 3 has a Water Lock setting, too, and   I assume I should use it when we do water aerobic class and/or water walking. He says he doesn't bother to use the Water Lock setting. So who's right - should we use water lock, or doesn't it matter?
