Hello @Jananna and welcome to the Community. Your experience isn't all that strange. The accelerometer is constantly analyzing motion patterns and it sees what it sees. A while ago, a user got a swimming exercise when folding laundry. If you use the auto recognition feature when you swim, then the easier solution is to delete those exercise logs when they show up. If you use the Exercise app when you swim, then you can turn off the swim auto recognition option. Tap on your profile picture/gear icon in the upper right > Activity & Wellness > Swimming > toggle it off.
If you use the auto recognition feature for swimming, it seems easier to delete false exercises than to toggle it on/off every time you knit.
