Weird Bug? (Heartrate tracker affected by pinching finger)

There's something I've noticed about the Inspire I'd love to get explained. When exercising it can give pretty wildly different readings from my real heartrate unless I'm wearing a pulse ox. With a pulse ox on my index finger the Inspire almost always shows accurate readings. It makes no sense. The devices are in no way connected.

Then I tried an experiment. I pinched the same index finger using my thumb and middle finger of the same hand with roughly the same amount of pressure as the pulse ox. Suddenly the Inspire started giving accurate heartrate readings. I tested this several times with the same result.

This... makes no sense to me. Any guesses? 🤔

Hi, @Dezzie_Bean, welcome, You may find this article interesting: How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit device? Do you have a tattoo or scar on your wrist where you wear your Inspire 3? If so that will impact the LED/sensor readings. Others here in the community have a greater understanding of HR issues than I do so you may see more advice.

I hope this helps.

Cheers
