Why is my inspire 3 not logging sleep?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I had one of the first generation fit bits and it logged my sleep without premium. That broke, I upgraded to an inspire 3 and it wasn’t logging my sleep, so I upgraded to premium and it maybe logs my sleep in simplified data 3 times a week? I’m on my 3rd inspire 3 sir this happening. Anyone have any way to solve this? Idk how to get ahold of any tech support .

Hi, @Missenmiranda, welcome to the community, you may find this article of interest How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device? You may find changing the sleep setting normal/sensitive improves things for you.

You will also see you need to be "at rest" for about an hour before the logging process is established. If you are a very restless sleeper this may interrupt the process.

I hope this helps but if you are still stuck please post here again, alternatively, you can reach "Customer Support" using the phone or chat facility for a prompt response.

Cheers

I’m having issues too.  I’ve been wearing a Fitbit since 2015 I think. Never had an issue with tracking sleep.  In the last few weeks it sometimes only logs an hour or so of sleep which is way off.  Nothing has changed about how I sleep so what’s going on? And how do I fix it?

I’m having the exact same problem. Only recorded a few hours of sleep for yesterday and today!!  Please help. This is very important medically. Thx!

I just got an Inspire 3 yesterday. It is telling me today I got less than 4 hrs sleep during a span of time between 3:45a & 7a. That's completely off! Even adjusting for getting up once (around 3:30a) & possible restlessness,  I was sleeping between 11:45p & 7:07a. Sleep tracking isn't working.

I have a Fitbit One (from 2013) that just started not behaving as it did prior to January 2023. The One tracked sleep perfectly! I would 'put it to sleep' with a button push & 'wake it up' with another push and it tracked all desired data. If it didn't sync (in its old age) I could enter the start/stop times and it had the restlessness & wake data in its "brain" & overlaid it on the manual timeline when sync'd.

I won't be able to use a Fitbit anymore if the Inspire 3 won't track sleep accurately! I only need Fitbit to accurately track Steps, Hills, Sleep, Weight (from my Aria scale). I use MyFitnessPal for everything else.

I would much prefer the old Fitbit One (original Fitbit design team...) approach to manually activate & end sleep tracking if the auto stuff is so inaccurate and therefore worthless. I will contact Support,  but now I know I don't have a one off issue and it's endemic to the design (which is bad).

Same started happening to me two days ago.

Mine I got it 1 week ago and yesterday didn't track any sleep and today it tracked only ~3 hours which is off cause I was in bed for at least 8 hours.

I have seriously tried everything. Moving it closer on my wrist and moving it back. From changing sleep setting. From manually starting the sleep to even exchanging it twice! This is a problem, and I’m glad I’m not the only one. Do we have Fitbit’s attention yet? Lol

I just got off the phone from talking with Customer Support in the past 5 minutes (2/7/23 @ 10:07am Pacific Time - US).

The agent I spoke with said they've been having "tech issues" & their "servers haven't been working right" since some time midday on February 6th, 2023. Theoretically,  the ETA to a fix is within 2 hours from now, i.e., midday 2/7/23 PST.

The guy I spoke with said the inaccurate info should (theoretically - my word, not his) be corrected  and/or show up at the time of that fix. We'll see... According to him, different customers were experiencing different sync'ing issues.  For ex., my steps were sync'ing but sleep data was completely screwed up. Others supposedly weren't seeing their steps tracked. In response to a question I asked him,  it doesn’t sound as though they use different servers to handle different categories of Fitbit data. Yet, the issues are manifesting in different data categories for different users.  Sounds odd to me...🤔

I’ve had my Inspire 3 since it came out and had no problems until two days ago, when it suddenly stopped providing any sleep data. Uninstalled the app and reinstalled it with no change. It just reminds me to wear it when sleeping, which I always do.

My inspire 3 had been working great since Christmas 22. Until the last 2 nights, it has not tracked my sleep all of a sudden. Steps seem to still be calculating and syncing but not sleep!

There is a bug in the server per downdetector. Nobody seems to have sleep records now. 😞

That feature has been broken for two days since the server crashed.

Mine is syncing supposedly but definitely not syncing sleep or a few other metrics yet.  Yesterday seems to have appeared for sleep but not today.

This has been happening to mine for over a month now?? Even after exchanging it with two others?

Same here. In addition it is not logging my hourly/ 250 steps. It locked up and won't count. Reset/restarted both Fitbit and app. Hopefully they get this fixed.

Same here. Sleep tracking has been hit and miss for the last month

Mine too!! I’m bummed because I just purchased this, and it seems to already not work very well

Today is 03/12/2023, and for two nights now I've been having the same issues you had. I purchased my Inspire 3 less than a month ago, trusting it would be better for sleep tracking than Versa 2, which was terrible for tracing sleep. It seems that Fitbit still has A LOT TO IMPROVE regarding sleep tracking.

I have had my Inspire 3 for about two weeks now.  Sleep tracking has been good for me.  One thing I do find is that while watching TV/movies, I do have to move my wrist every now and then to keep the sleep tracking from starting.

Have you set a sleep schedule?
