I was considering asking for an Inspire 3 for Christmas to replace my aging Alta HR. When I looked at the Inspire 3 specs, it says (and I'm copying and pasting this)
Is this for real? If I go out for a winter hike or if I'm shoveling snow in temps below 32 degrees, is this device going to stop tracking my steps, heart rate, etc.?
I'm having a hard time believing that the minimum operating temperature is so high. I'm pretty sure there are many, many Fitbit users who live in climates where they could be outside in temperatures below freezing for extended periods of time.

@MarshmallowPeep I live in an area with snow and below freezing temperatures for six months of the year. I've never had trouble with any of my Fitbits in cold weather. It's under my sleeves and I'm pretty well bundled up when I am out in the cold.
The Inspire 3 does have the option to wear it on a clip. If you choose to do that, I would suggest placing it in a pocket or somewhere close to your body, so it won't be so exposed to cold temperatures.

@MarshmallowPeep You can do so at your own risk. I'm sure if the Fitbit is on your wrist and covered by a sleeve or glove, it would be fine. I have taken my Fitbits out for walks in very hot weather and never had a problem (I don't live where it gets too cold). I have friends who use Fitbits and they live in very cold climates and they go walking every day, so I think you'll be fine. Test it and see, just don't leave it out in the snow. 😉

Actually I use the inspire 3 in all weather conditions, and often times I put it in a small pocket within my pocket with the sensor facing myself. If you use the actual clip you need to turnoff the heart reading functions, but with this in my pocket it checks my pulse just fine. This is probably the best function for inspire 3 as I like fancy wrist watches that look nice and having a tracker destroy that vibe. With the option of having it in my pocket and still reading my vitals make this the only fitbit choice for me

I know many trackers have failed to work when over heated, and I'm sure if you left the tracker outside in the child, there will be issues.
As may have mentioned, the tracker is against the skin, body heat., and under a sleeve.
Basically all electronics has a range where it functions best.
