bonkers readings for zone minutes

I was wearing my Fitbit, sitting at my desk, working on a project, and when I synced at the end of the day, my Fitbit registered that I was doing 65 mins of “intense activity” with a heart rate over 116 BPM. Is that possible while I was sitting in a chair being sedentary? my resting heart rate is normally 54 BPM.

I have noticed many times before the Fitbit is very unreliable when it comes to measuring zone minutes. It’s complete Rubbish actually. I will have to move to some different device.I have noticed many times before the Fitbit is very unreliable when it comes to measuring zone minutes. It’s complete Rubbish actually. Any suggestions for getting more accurate or reliable results?

If your resting heart rate is 54 then you are obviously a regular exerciser.  In my experience, the Inspire 3 is pretty good at tracking intense exercise and calculating zone minutes and heart rate.  I have also had occasions where I was supposedly earning zone minutes while doing little or nothing.  Unless you are keeping track of your daily zone minutes, I'd say don't worry about it. I don't have an Apple watch or other fitness tracker but I'd be surprised if you didn't find the same type of complaint for other devices.
