I did a treadmill run and tracked it with inspire 3. I wanted to edit the distance afterwards because it was around 20% less than what the treadmill showed. Every time i edited the distance it didnt take my edits and went right to the distance fitbit estimated. I know it is very hard to track the distance on a treadmill correctly since im staying in the same place all the time. I actually wear the device so it can track my heart rate during the run. Is the only solution to delete the trackings and put in a workout manually? Wouldnt i loose the heart rate graph shown in the workout summary when doing it that way?
It seems very odd to me that i cant edit the distance of a treadmill run. I have better data, so why cant i make things more accurate in my dashboard?

Hello @AdultImprover and welcome to the Community. It is nearly impossible to get the treadmill distance to any fitness tracker distance. A treadmill measures the distance from the belt rotation. Fitbit uses a steps x stride length to measure distance any time you aren't using GPS. The Treadmill shortcut uses your walking stride length it its calculation. If you mix walking and running or change incline during your workout, your stride length changes. The algorithm still uses the same stride length for every step.
If you run on your treadmill, Fitbit recommends using the Run shortcut with your GPS off, so the algorithm uses your running stride length. I don't recommend deleting the workout, then adding it manually. That feature is designed for times when you forgot to wear your Fitbit. It changes your calorie burn.
I also want to note that a treadmill distance isn't necessarily the correct distance, either. Treadmills require regular maintenance. If you run on your treadmill, please try my recommendation, but it is nearly impossible to make the distance match. All Fitbit data ere estimates.
I looked at your public profile and it looks like you are a new user. Fitbit doesn't let you edit the distance for any activity when you use the Exercise app. It would be easier for users if that field didn't exist, but it has been this way for a very long time.
