My 13 day old Fitbit Ionic detached from the face and was lost while I shopped in Costco. I called Fitbit to ask about tracking it. They were able to track it to the minute it stopped synching - which was approximately 5 minutes after I entered the store, but before I paid for my purchases (time on receipt). The Ionic had detached once before from the face but I caught it as it started to fall off my wrist. I reattached the band to the face. Unfortunately, it was cold this day, I had a coat on and did not realize it fell off until I was driving in my car.
Fitbit was not able to geo locate it, although it has NAV on it, because of privacy issues. They also refuse to replace it, although this is a known problem with the ionic bands not locking properly in to the face. I am very saddened and disgusted. I paid $300 for an FITBIT IONIC and they are not replacing it due to a known issue/defect??!!! REALLY FITBIT??!!
HOWEVER, FITBIT did offer a coupon for 25% off the purchase of another IONIC. REALLY? REALLY.
Customer Service - Sigh. Really?:??!!!! Nanette Faccilonga, NanetteF@yahoo.com; 469-569-9959 Fitbit if you want to make it RIGHT. I will be posting this all over social media tomorrow.

No disrespect, but I'm not sure why you would think that it's Fitbit's responsibility to replace an item you lost. It's unfortunate and I feel your pain, but I would think most companies would have a similar attitude towards a situation like this.
I know it's too late now, but when attaching the band to the Ionic, you will hear a click and the button will pop out. Also to confirm the band is actually in place and secured correctly, you can just give both ends a tug. If the band pops out you know it's not secure, if it stays in place you're good to go.
Like I said, this won't help you now, but it may prevent someone else from losing their Ionic in the future.
Good luck.

Considering I never changed the band, oh well, oh well.
