Hi.
Just a heads-up. The fitbit Ionic seems to be waterproof in fresh water. But my 2nd Ionic just died after swimming in the ocean. It was okay for the first 2 days, and then the display faded out and died. I wore it for a few days after that to see if it was still registering my steps and not displaying anything on the display. But the fitbit app could not find it (tried charging it overnight also).
I was lucky that my first one was under warranty, but this one was not as the warranty replacement devices are still based on the original device warranty.
I just ordered a replacement because I like the Ionic. I will just remember not to use it in salt water.

I had pretty much the same issue with it. I really like Fit bit and the Ionic but if you are going to allow the same issue to occur and not fix it or stand behind your product then I am not giving you $200. every 9 months. I wont be buying another one as customer service wont even discuss this issue and is shocked that it happened.
