8AM today - 6.93 miles recorded on app & Ionic, but steps correct at a few hundred

This AM before I had even left the house, I looked at the app and was surprised to see that it was showing a green icon. My miles icon was green as it was recorded as 6.93 miles versus a 5 mile a day target. As the day has gone on, the steps and additional miles seem to be recording correctly. 6.93 was not even yesterdays result. So currently I have 14,712 steps equating to 14.62 miles, reality would be 14.62 - 6.93 = 7.69 miles. This is the first time I have seen this and I'm hoping it's a one day blip.

Hi, tried re-starting 3 times but it made no difference. Hopefully today
was just a one off and it will be OK tomorrow AM. Cheers

Did you charge your Ionic overnight?

No I had charged it the night before.

Okay, next question; did you wear it to bed or was it sitting somewhere during the night?

Hi, @SueBee37, were you wearing your Ionic, or was it resting somewhere?  If resting, could it have been near a vibration source -- fan, dehumidifier, even an active computer CPU?  Vibrations can fool the trackers into thinking they are collecting steps.

I have read, though can’t vouch for it, that restarting your Ionic three times might help sort it out. Might be worth a try

The steps were correct at a few hundred it was only the miles that was
completely wrong.

Yeah @SueBee37 wasn’t too secure on that one. Just something someone else said. If it’s just a step/mile mismatch hopefully it’ll sort itself out. Best of luck

@SunsetRunner and @SueBee37, just FYI, restarting can solve many problems, but it never deletes steps or changes any data recorded.
