A few problems with Fitbit Ionic

Hi all - my Ionic has been having a handful of problems and I’m hoping to get real resolutions. I was a Blaze owner for many years and was happy with it but now I’m regretting the upgrade. Please note I’ve rebooted the watch countless times and it’s updated with the latest firmware.

Also, please let me know what Garmin you’d recommend as a good replacement. Thanks!

First - my auto recognize exercises are not being detected after 10 minutes. Major problem. Manual tracking is not a solution.

Second - notifications shutoff randomly. I turn them back on from app* see 3

Third - can no longer swipe right to turn on notifications. Rebooted countless times.

Fourth - sleep stages only tracked about half the week. Adjusted band to have it sit higher on wrist.

Note that I had none of these issues with my Blaze. I’m guessing I got a faulty Ionic.

Many thanks - any help appreciated.

1. See if the Ionic is set to detect exercises for longer than 10 minutes by going into the fitbit app, clicking the exercise tab, then clicking the gear at the top right corner.

3. The new update has turned off the swipe right to turn on/off notifications; you have to hold the left button now.

Thanks for your reply - I was unaware the new update did away with swipe to the right. Unfortunately, I do have my ionic set  to auto-recognize exercises longer than 10 minutes. I may try turning it off and then turning it back on and see if that works.
