purchased an ionic and wore it to work monday, im on my feet all day doing light tasks and no active minutes were recorded.... i ended up with a result of approximately 3500 calories burnt for the day.

after a bit of research about active minutes on tuesday i wore it to work and set my ionic to the workout function so it recorded my day. i performed the same duties both days but my reading for day 2 was over 6000 calories burnt.

Can anyone advise which result i should be going by

cheers

phil

Welcome to the Community @CombatWombat. Thanks for the details mentioned.

Your calories burned will be calculated based in your BMR and your personal information. Regarding your active minutes, your Fitbit device recognizes and awards active minutes when the activity you're doing is more strenuous than regular walking, which includes everything from a brisk walk to a cardio workout or run.

I would like you to make sure that your personal information is properly entered in your online Dashboard.

I'll be around if you need further assistance.

@CombatWombat  It's definitely a product of your accurate personal settings because the active minutes must be at least 10 continuous minutes @ at least 3 times your BMR/minute.  This calculator will give your your BMR and divide the answer by 1440 for the /minute rate.

This example is a typical burst, and shop, and burst, through a shopping mall using the Active Record Icon in the Fitbit internet activity log...50 Active Minutes total  Occasionally we find it includes the Active Minutes over a shorter period, in this case 9 minutes.  The other image is the Workout HR.
