Add option to edit exercise and inaccurate recording of stationary bike exercise.

Hi

My Fitbit Ionic like my Charge 3 before it gets the callories burned on a stationary ex. bike very wrong indeed. This may be because there is no setting for a stationary bike and we are advised to use the 'spinning' setting.

Today I burned 167 calories on the bike. The Fitbit says I burned 90 calories. The Fitbit is algorythm is making the best estimate it can thinking I'm spinning.  The exercise bike knows precisely how much work is being done and is far more accurate.

But if I use the Ionic to record the exercise I cannot edit it.

If I note the start and end time and manually enter the exercise into the app. then I can edit it! Manual entry is a pain.

Why can't we edit recorded exercise please?

Thanks

Please,

If I add my exercise manually I can put the figures in as I wish

@Kevin_000 Welcome to the Community. Thanks for the details mentioned.

Your feedback is appreciated, we're always working on improving Fitbit features. When you're in a stationary bike, you could let your Ionic track the workout automatically and this will detect it as sport  after this, edit the name of the activity. (You won't be able to edit the information in your workout but only the name of the activity)

Learn more about it by checking this article: How do I track exercise and activity with my Fitbit device?

Additionally, you could post your idea about adding stationary bike to the exercises that you could track directly from your watch in our Feature Suggestion board, those ideas are reviewed by our team.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thanks for coming back Sylvia

I do hope fitbit considers this basic function. It used to be there, but it got turned off some years ago.

If the issue is people competing remotely and an edit would allow cheating it would be simple to mark edited exercise with a red 'edited' flag.

Changing the name of the exercise is not a lot of value when the amount of work done is some 56% out... That is so much it is useless.

PS I have changed the title to something more useful than the change the editor made. This is a lot more than adding Stationary Bike as an exercise.

A better way to go is to open the exercise and see precisely when it started and how long it was. Then to add an exercise with the correct amount of work done and then delete the recorded exercise... Quite a faf, but it means that the heart rates are carried over accurately.
