Additional use of Fitbit

Chose Fitbit because it would pair with my Android phone.  Hoped to use it to connect it with e-mail,  Facebook and other media.  Now I find that is not possible on my Fitbit Ionic.  I  would also like to see my heartbeat not just the number of heartbeats.  I don't jog, run or do vigorous exercise.  I am disappointed that Fitbit is not more like other watches on the market.  Would it be possible for Fitbit to develop downloadable programs to add our watches?

It is possible to connect Ionic with your e-mail application and, I suppose also with Facebook (although here I never tried, I do not use FB) as it is possible to receive notifications to Ionic from a number of applications installed in your phone.

In Fitibit mobile application try tapping on the small icon of Ionic in the upper area of the screen of your phone, then (on a new screen) scoll a bit down to "General", go to "Notifications". Here it is possible to choose what apps will send notifications to your Ionic.

About the heartbeat, I am not sure what exactly you mean, I hope somebody else could help here.

Take care.

I have a pulse/ox monitor. It shows your respiration per minute, heartbeats per minute, as does Fitbit, and a graph of your heartbeats, like an EKG. If Fitbit can show the BPM why not show the graph of the beats?

There are some apps around that can do this, it's no problem. If you mean the actual EKG pulse (as per latest Garmin watch, for example) then no, fitbit cannot do this. Neither can it do anything with respiration etc. It has a SPO2 sensor but it is not activated/in use (yet)

@Sizzie it is possible for anybody that knows how to program to write a program for the Ionic.

As for notifications from third party apps

Press the icon of the ionic on the dashboard.

Tap notifications

Scroll up

Tap App Notifications

Choose up to 100 apps that are installed on the phone to have their notifications sent to the ionic.

I'm not sure what you mean by wanting to see the heart, not just the number of heart beats. Fitbit will display heart beets per minute but doesn't give a running total of heart beats.

Are you asking about a graph of your heart rate? Tap the heart tile, the graph is on the next page. This graph has  help doctors determine the cause of the emergency more than once, saving valuable minutes from not having to run their own tests.
