Adidas training app has no exercise explanation

Hi,

I bought my brand new Ionic Adidas edition primarily for its look but the Adidas app is absolutely useless! It only shows a name for an exercise how am I supposed to know what to do? I know some of the exercises but most I have no idea what to do. Is there a way to show a preview as in Fitbit Coach? Did miss it (tried the back shortcut as in the Coach app)?

Please consider updating the app with ANY form of explanation as to what the exercise is.

Currently, you can only see the exercise, go to next/pause, or see a list with the names only of all exercises.

Sorry to hear, I've given up and just use everything else besides the Adidas app. The replacement watch they sent me did not work and I dont have anymore patience to deal with their customer service who's only solutions is to give me instructions for 20 different reboots with no real solution. I wanted to return my watch but its past the return date. Make due with what actually works. Good luck!Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

I’m posting this mainly because I have managed to unbrick my Ionic from its boot loop and someone might find this useful:

I waited to drain the battery which took nearly three days. The Ionic showed a “0%” battery icon. The Ionic still wouldn’t boot (boot loop) before that.
When it had no battery left, I quickly plugged in the charger into an outlet, plugged in the Ionic and held all three buttons for a factory reset. I counted to about fifteen and waited for the 0% battery icon to disappear and the. released the bottom right button and continued to hold the left and top right until it vibrated. When it did (I counted to about 4), I released all buttons and waited. It showed the fitbit logo and I counted to eighty when it suddenly disappeared and showed a new message (one I had never seen before): “Data not cleared Sync and try again” with a red X. I decided to try and see if the fitbit app would find it and it did! I went to add it again as a new device, the Ionic was very slow (slowly moving fitbit logo, very slowly displaying the bluetooth pairing numbers) but worked!
I’m still waiting to see if it will update as battery is very low currently and I can’t add a wifi network.
I’ll update this thread again if after updating I get exercise previews in the Adidas Train app.
As a side note, fitbit support has been awesome trying to help. Very responsive, even though there clearly are some OS bugs that of course they won’t be able to fix.

i have the same problem with my Fitbit adidas ionic. Following your lastest post  and with the trouble shooting that you did, was it finally successful? Thanks

No, unfortunately I’m on vacation and with horrible internet access, so I was unable to finish the device update. It lost bluetooth connection and I tried to restart it (and then reset it again), but the fitbit app no longer finds it.

Fitbit support has declared it dead and are shipping me a replacement main unit.

Hi just purchased a the ionic and also same issue no preview purchased 11.26.18 veryhappy 😒 did you find a resolve

I just bought this yesterday and the same issue with mine. No previews. Then what’s the point of spending extra if it doesn’t even do what it says.

I am having the same issue. I just got mine 2 days ago from Best Buy and it isn't working. This is definitely frustrating.. has anyone had a watch without this issue?

I purchased fitbit IONIC Adidas edition two days ago, and having same issue. 

Are there any bug-fix plan in the future?

How long do you think it will take to rectify as I paid extra for this
edition and its basicly just a standard ionic. Really unhappy as not been
able to to do any of the exercises from the adidas app

Yesterday, I visited authorized retailer and store staff also confirmed the issue, after trying to solve the issue for more than an hour. The issue persists even after linking with store staff's iPhone. The demo unit at the store was working well. Just to share information.

Not to happy. How do i go about a refund as the watch is clearly not as
advertised and can't be used for the purpose of the app of which I bought
it for and paid extra

Thank you for the good news that fix will be released. Will the fix be released through online firmware update?

 

The authorized retailer where I purchased IONIC took my device, brought it to their head office for investigation/repair for more than a week. They are not returning the device back to me although I am asking. If this was firmware issue, I think there is no way retailer can fix this. I would appreciate it if you could notify all fitbit authorized retailers about this ADIDAS IONIC issue so that they can explain to customers to wait for firmware update.
