Since the latest OS update, I noticed that the following setting are no longer accessible (greyed out):
Brightness (set to DIM)
Do Not Disturb
Screen Wake
Anyone else?

Hi everyone!
Currently there is a Voluntary Safety Recall of Fitbit Ionic Smartwatches and won't be more updates. For more information, please visit our web page at help.fitbit.com/ionic.
I wanted to let you know that I'm going to close this thread to keep the community organized and prevent any confusion if you have questions regarding a different device please post your query on the correct board.

Same, my watch is unreadable outside or in high lighting areas. Can only see the screen in dark or dim lighting. Tried reseting, etc. Still same

After the latest update the screen is too low brightness, cannot see info so it is useless outdoors, some options in settings are greyed out.

I wonder if this is some type of battery saving "feature" with Ionics that have degraded battery efficiency? Much like Apple slowing down iPhones when the battery capacity reaches a certain level?
I've had my Ionic since launch day, so I have an older one. I wonder if any newer Ionic owners notice the same "greyed out" situation?

@MattJ71 @Tecla68 @MikeDmyterko It's nice to see you on the Community.
Thanks for letting me know what you're experiencing with your Ionic after installing the latest update. I would like you to confirm that you restart your watch and try to change these settings on your Ionic again.
If you're still experiencing this, please attach a picture of the grayed out settings.
Looking forward for your reply.

Hi, I did restart my Ionic at least 10 times, I am still not able to change the brightness; outdoor I cannot see the screen. Indoor instead is fine. I herewith attach a photo showing the greyed brightness option stuck into DIM.
Regards

I found the SOLUTION.
Go into SLEEP MODE and turn it OFF. This will restore the settings. It seems to be a change in the new OS, so no big deal, and makes some sense.

Sleep mode is also greyed out for me. as is don't disturb. as is screen wake.

Hi, on my watch several settings are greyed out: SLEEP MODE, BRIGHTNESS, DO NOT DISTURB, SCREEN WAKE. I think Fitbit needs to come out with an urgent firmware patch to solve all these problems. I don't think this situation is gonna bring good opinions within customers. I will never suggest to buy a fitbit watch to anyone.

Yep, same thing for me. Can't read the screen outdoors or in higher light areas.

@MattJ71 Thanks for getting back. I'm glad to hear that when you change your Sleep Mode settings, you were able to change the brightness and screen wake options.
@Tecla68 @MikeDmyterko It's pretty weird that you're still unable to change these settings. I've shared your post with our Support team and they've mentioned you already have a case with them, please continue the communication through email.
As an additional note, I wanted to share the settings that will change if you turn on Sleep Mode:
- Notifications don't cause the watch to vibrate or
the screen to turn on.
- The screen's brightness is set to dim.
- The Always-On Display clock face is turned off.
- Turning your wrist won't cause the watch's
screen to turn on.
- You see a Sleep Mode icon at the top of the
screen when you swipe up to see your stats
I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

Hi @SilviaFitbit, situation didn't change, all those options are still greyed out in settings and brightness is absent outdoors. I keep doing a restart at least twice per day. I am awaiting for a resolution from support team then.
Tks, ciao

I've had mine about 16 months, so out of warranty. As we all appear to have the same problem after the update, I'd say it's nothing to do with the battery or anything

Thanks Matt. Done the trick. Surprised no one got back to me from customer support

All those options are greyed out for me to. I can't figure out what to do. Tried restarting but no dice. I know it's in sleep mode, but with that option greyed out, I can't turn it off.
